Sonics' New Multi-Converter Switching Sequencer for Ultrasonic Plastics WeldingApril 13th, 2010
Sequentially Fires up to 8 Ultrasonic Converters
(April 6, 2010 – Newtown, CT) Sonics & Materials, Inc. is pleased to announce production launch of its new multi-channel high voltage ultrasonic sequencer, designed for streamlined RF signal switching of up to 8 ultrasonic converter stacks. Typical applications include multiple ultrasonic welding, staking or inserting points on a single application, and the circuit board platform sequencer is designed for internal NEMA enclosure mounting.
The sequencer works with Sonics’ power supplies in a variety of frequencies, and allows OEM integrators to easily control multiple stack ultrasonic on/off sequences from a single source ultrasonic power supply or generator kit.
Timing for channel switching is pre-programmed which eliminates the need for additional sequence programming. All that is needed is for the OEM design engineer to program ultrasonics on and off time. Available in a 4 or 8 channel platform, the use of the sequencer completes the sequential firing of multiple converters stacks.
A manual override function is included so that a particular converter can be isolated and tested at any time. Optional NEMA enclosure mounting plate is also available.
